These change sets contain some 4500 official names for North East Greenland.

They were imported from the Geological Survey Authority - GEUS - here:

Written permission to use is contained in subfolder 1.

As only few fit OSM standards - they are all simple points - they will in general need post processing and reassignment.

- The buildings have all been imported asis. See folder 3
- Islands and lakes have been imported and to the extent they are alredy outlined names have been moved using potlatch and list items deleted.
- Peaks have been split up in piclists - folder 4 - and are continuusly being imported and verified for location and duplicates. 

Most islands and many lakes are already in OSM, so you may just copy the name to the outline and delete the point.

For the rest the geographical area must be finished or set first. For most fjords, bays, and glaciers this should be a matter of adding a line to close the area and assign the name to a multipolygon.

I am not good at that. All assistance in obtaining this goal will be highly appreciated....

Note: Only in the very southern and inhabited area inuit names (language code kl) exist. In such case they ARE the name and need no code. Alternative ones from the database will then be danish (name:da).

For the rest of the area the place names are a happy mix of original danish, norwegian, french, german and english with possible NLS characters. Any such as for example ψεδφότυ may appear and be correct and place names will need no language code....
